ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (Feb. 15, 2024) – For Winter Homecoming, Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) will feature United States Air Force Heritage of America Band Rhythm in Blue in the Community Connections Performance and Lecture Series. The event is Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in the R. L. Vaughan Center.

The event also includes performances from the ECSU Sound of Class, the university’s cheerleading team, the D’Lytes, and various Greek-letter organizations. Attendees can secure tickets at www.ecsu.edu/community-connections.

The Concert Band is comprised of 45 professional Airmen who have performed at thousands of high-profile community outreach and military events. The group has produced more than 55 highly-acclaimed recordings and collaborated with many world-renowned artists, according to its website.

“This is an amazing way to show those who are interested in music they can  have a secure, lucrative career serving their country through their gift. That is the level of exposure we are pleased to offer through Community Connections,” said Nichole Lewis, ECSU interim associate vice chancellor of Student, Alumni, and Constituent Engagement.

Community Connections events are sponsored and supported by a combination of ECSU student fees, a private donation from Trustee Phyllis Bosomworth, Microsoft, First Citizens Wealth Management, Duke Energy Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
